The Kitchen Shop, 5 Market St, Lichfield, Staffs, WS13 6LX – A fabulous shop that stocks a selection of designer and quirky cookware as well as the traditional selection of cookware for the kitchen and home dining.
This was one bit of information that I just did not know – Lichfield is the home of Dr Johnson and his house is still in the heart of the town. He wrote the first English Dictionary.
Visitors to the City find plenty to interest them in the historic streets with not many changes from the original map from 1510, with Tudor buildings and old traditions, people are amazed that a city with so much to offer is relatively unknown on the tourist trail. But the overriding attraction of the city is its quiet and unspoilt charm, and a visitor to the Cathedral, Johnson’s Birthplace Museum or Heritage Exhibition, can be assured of a genuine welcome and personal attention far removed from the “conveyor belt” tourist attractions that have been created elsewhere. Not forgetting some lovely eating places to rest your feet after visiting all the delightful shops!
